Facebook is seeking a Project Specialist to join our Global Data Center Connectivity (DCC) team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our innovative services are delivered and our rapidly scaling infrastructure operates. The GDCC team lights up Facebook's global data centers, delivering the physical infrastructure that connects the world to the videos, feeds, and other information stored on Facebook's server banks. The DCC Project Specialist is the beginning of a Project and Program Management track that will help develop, maintain, and execute key processes, tools, and relationships critical for the successful completion of programs. The Project Specialist is a key part of project execution through hands-on interactions with internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time intern position based at the Menlo Park campus - Facebook HQ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide tactical and administrative support for multiple Program Managers supporting one of the following teams:
  • -Engineering & Design
  • -Preconstruction, Finance, and Planning
  • -Incubator & Innovation Labs
  • Assist Program Managers to coordinate deliverable due dates - design, procurement, execution, and closeout
  • Coordinate project meetings and document review cycles
  • Drafting project documents and creation of project documents from templates
  • Oversee the collection of quarterly/monthly/weekly data for input in Program Management tools and reports
  • Work with the GDCC team to coordinate project reporting templates and tools
  • Coordinate with the procurement team for DCC projects including placing orders, creating requisitions, navigating through the internal approval process, coordinating change orders, and assisting during the close-out process
  • Assist field team with escalating non-conformance reports to Program Management
  • Act as liaison between Sourcing and Program Management to ensure alignment with procurement strategies, processes, policies, and best practices
  • Assist Program Managers, Operations, Accounts Payable, and Suppliers to resolve payment holds and defective invoices in a timely manner
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, maintaining accurate meeting minutes and action items
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Upcoming completion of an undergraduate/masters with reference to one of the following focus areas:
  • -Engineering (Construction/Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Network/Communications Preferred)
  • -Business Administration
  • Ability to work effectively within deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up
  • Proven skills consulting with internal/external stakeholders
  • Outstanding Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to flourish in an environment of fast growth and white space
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels, develop cooperative working partnerships and contribute to teams
